These Guidelines for Homestay rules have been prepared by AUCKLAND HOMESTAYS LTD and are based on typical rules of most Homestay families. Not all of these rules apply to every Homestay.

16) BE HELPFUL: Most students want their Homestay families to help them with their English, and their problems, etc. Most Homestays would also like their students to return some of that help. Remember that Homestays are not “five star hotels”, with staff chasing after their guests.
17) ELECTRIC BLANKETS: If using an electric blanket, warm up your bed first, but switch off once you are in bed.
Do not go to school ( or go out ) and leave your electric blanket on. They can cause a fire, so please take care,

24) TOILET PAPER: Please do not remove rolls of toilet paper ( from the toilet ) and keep in your room.
25) GIRLS: Please do not flush sanitary pads down the toilet as they can block drains and it is expensive to fix these problems.
