Homestay Family Accommodation Fees:

The average Homestay fee is usually between $NZ 180.00 and $NZ 200.00 per week for a room, meals, laundry etc.
$180.00 is the lower end of the Homestay accommodation fee and the home may be further away from the central city.
Some up-market Homestays close to the city centre ( which is often where many of the schools are located ) are more expensive, perhaps up to $NZ 230.00 per week..
Our students usually pay the Homestay fee direct to the Homestay family:
- Usually Cash, for two weeks in advance when they move into the Homestay’s home, and every two-weeks ( in advance ) for as long as they live with the Homestay family.

Some agents ( and schools ) insist that the student pays the Homestay fee to the agent / school first then after the agent / school has taken their weekly fee the agent / school then pays the Homestay.
Often these fees can be anything from $NZ 10.00 up to $NZ 50.00 each week
We do not operate like that as we know that the added un-necessary agent / school weekly fee makes it more expensive for the student.

The Homestay fee ( that all our students pay direct to the Homestay family ) includes:

• your own private bedroom, with…
• a desk & chair for you to study in your room.
• three meals ( Breakfast, Lunch & evening Dinner ) on Saturday and Sundays.
• two meals ( Breakfast & evening Dinner ) from Monday to Friday.
• NOTE: Some Homestays may also provide the ingredients for you to make a lunch to take to school, however the weekly fee is usually slightly higher
• The use of the Homestay’s telephone, bathroom & toilet and you can watch with the family their television, & video.
• NOTE: Some Homestays have a separate shower and toilet for just the student(s) use, however sometimes the weekly fee may be slightly higher
• If you have a computer often the Homestay will be happy to arrange for you to have your own telephone / computer line, however you will be responsible for the payment to the Telephone Company ( approximately $NZ 40.00 every month ) for the cost of the telephone / computer line rental, which is paid to the Telephone Company.
• You will also need to pay for your own Internet Service Provider ( ISP ) if you wish to use the Internet.
• The Homestay will usually wash your clothes and bedding for you, however if you would prefer to wash your own clothing the Homestay is often happy for you to use their automatic washing machine.
• If you decide to buy a car whilst you are in New Zealand then it may be possible for you to park your car inside / on the Homestays property instead of out on the street.
• FEE FOR HOLDING ROOM: If you are going away for a long holiday, or returning home to visit your family and would like your Homestay to hold your room for you until you return to Auckland, you may need to pay a reduced weekly fee.
